Your journey begins in Negombo, a relaxed coastal town with colonial charm and a bustling fish market. From there, you'll venture to the Cultural Triangle, home to Sri Lanka's most sacred and historical treasures. Climb the majestic rock fortress of Sigiriya, wander through the ancient city of Polonnaruwa, and witness the spiritual resonance of the Dambulla Cave Temple. This region reveals the heart of a civilization that thrived for over 2,500 years.
As the tour continues, you’ll ascend into the cool highlands of Kandy, where the sacred Temple of the Tooth Relic lies nestled beside a serene lake. Watch a mesmerizing Kandyan cultural dance performance and explore lush botanical gardens. Then, travel through emerald-green tea plantations to reach Nuwara Eliya, known as "Little England" for its colonial architecture and cool climate. Itinerary
Day 01:

Your driver/guide will warmly greet you at the airport and transfer you to your hotel in Colombo. We look forward to welcoming you in style at a memorable Welcome Dinner.
Day 02:
- After breakfast, we travel south toward Tissamaharama or Yala. Along the way, we’ll visit a Turtle Hatchery, observe traditional mask makers, and explore the charming city of Galle with its rich history and colonial architecture.
Day 03:
- Start your day with a dawn jeep safari in Yala National Park, home to leopards, elephants, sloth bears, and numerous bird species. Later, we’ll visit the Elephant Transit Camp and continue toward Uda Walawe or Embilipitiya for the night.
Day 04:
- Journey upward into the central highlands and tour a working tea factory in Nuwara Eliya — a charming town often called “Little England” for its cool climate, Victorian architecture, and vast plantations.
Day 05:
- Take a ride on one of the world’s most scenic rail journeys. Your driver will be waiting at Peradeniya Station to transfer you safely to your hotel in Kandy.
Day 06:
- Explore Kandy’s main sights at your own pace — visit the Temple of the Tooth Relic, walk through the Royal Botanical Garden, or do some shopping. An optional cultural show in the evening offers a rich experience of traditional song, dance, and color.
Day 07:
- This morning we drive toward Sigiriya, Dambulla, or Habarana. Our route includes a visit to a Spice Garden and the majestic Dambulla Cave Temple — a UNESCO World Heritage Site.
Day 08:
- A guided tour of ancient Polonnaruwa is first on the agenda today. Later, we visit Sigiriya Rock Fortress — a dramatic citadel perched high above the jungle — and enjoy the chance to ride an elephant afterwards.
Day 09:
- We swap mountain jungle for golden shores today. On the way to Trincomalee, we enjoy a guided tour of Anuradhapura — an ancient city — and visit its nearby hot water wells.
Day 10:
- Discover the highlights of Trincomalee today — see its beautiful natural harbor, Fort Frederic, and dramatic Lover’s Leap.
Day 11:
- Take a break by the pool, or opt for snorkeling and diving at Pigeon Island National Marine Park — a rich coral reef teeming with life. Whale and dolphin-watching trips are also available for wildlife lovers.
Day 12:

Repeat or try something new — snorkel, dive, or simply enjoy the sunshine by the pool or the nearby beach. Whale and dolphin-spotting tours remain a highlight for wildlife lovers.
Day 13:

Relish the changing landscape as we drive back through the hill country toward Negombo or Katunayaka. Spend your last evening resting and reflecting on your wonderful holiday.
Day 14:
- Your driver will transfer you to the nearby airport for your departure. We’re sure you’ll already be making plans to return to this beautiful country.
Day 1 — Arrival in Colombo
Your exciting Grand Tour of Sri Lanka starts the moment you arrive at Bandaranaike Airport, where your personal, English-speaking chauffeur/guide will be waiting with a warm smile!
Take in your first glimpse of Sri Lanka’s beautiful countryside and city suburbs during your transfer in air-conditioned comfort to your hotel in Colombo — approximately an hour away.
We will arrange a morning or afternoon city tour of Colombo, allowing you to appreciate its rich blend of colonial architecture and bustling city life.
In the evening, we are delighted to host a Welcome Dinner — a wonderful opportunity to learn more about your tour and the country you’re about to discover.

After dinner, we’ll be delighted to introduce you to Colombo’s vibrant night life before you retire for a restful night’s sleep.
Day 2 — Tissamaharama or Yala (Galle, Turtle Hatchery, Mask Workshop)
Awake refreshed after breakfast and prepare for your journey south toward Tissamaharama or Yala.
Your driver/guide is there to answer your questions and show you points of interest along the way — all in VIP comfort and style.
We’ll break the journey with a visit to a Turtle Hatchery (and you may even help release some baby turtles back into the sea — a wonderful conservation project).
If you wish, we can also visit a Mask Workshop in Ambalangoda.
We’ll then continue toward Galle, a charming, ancient port city with a 16th-century UNESCO World Heritage Fort complex — a dramatic blend of European and South Asian culture.
The drive south to Tissamaharama or Yala includes a stop at a natural seawater blowhole in Tangalle — a dramatic phenomenon by the sea — before we arrive at your hotel for the night.
Day 3 — Embilipitiya or Uda Walawe (Yala National Park)
Awaken before dawn for your Yala National Park safari — a magic opportunity to view elephants, water buffalo, birds, and hopefully leopards and sloth bears in their natural habitat.
This is when the wildlife is most-active and the light is perfect for photography.
Later, we’ll return to your hotel for a hearty breakfast at 10:00.
Then we’re back on the road toward Uda Walawe or Embilipitiya, where we’ll visit the elephant transit camp, a unique sanctuary that prepares orphaned elephants for eventual release back into the wild — a wonderful opportunity to appreciate their role in conserving wildlife.
An afternoon safari in Uda Walawe National Park adds even more wildlife spotting to your day.
Your overnight stay will be in nearby Embilipitiya or Uda Walawe.
Day 4 — Nuwara Eliya (Tea Country)
A steady 4.5–5 hour drive today brings you up into Sri Lanka’s hill country — Nuwara Eliya.
Here, we tour a working tea factory, learn about the production process, and perhaps bring home some souvenirs.
Your overnight hotel is in Nuwara Eliya, affectionately called “Little England” due to its British architecture and neatly kept gardens.
Day 5 — Kandy (Scenic Train)
This promises to be a highlight — a ride on one of the most scenic railway journeys in the world!
Your seats are reserved in first class, with lunch, free WiFi, and unlimited tea and coffee on board.
Watch breathtaking views unfold as you travel through the mountains toward Peradeniya Station in Kandy, where your driver-cum-guide will be waiting to transfer you to your hotel in the city of Kandy.
Day 6 — Kandy Sightseeing
After breakfast, explore Kandy at your own pace.
Visit the Temple of the Tooth Relic (Dalada Maligawa) — a must-see — then do some shopping or sightseeing.
Optionally, for a small entrance fee, you can tour the Peradeniya Royal Botanical Gardens — 4000 species of trees, bushes, and orchids await you.
Later, enjoy a Cultural Show in Kandy featuring traditional song, dance, drumming, and fire walking.
Day 7 — Dambulla, Sigiriya or Habarana
This is a more leisurely day.
We drive toward Sigiriya, Dambulla, or Habarana (about 3.5–4 hours), with a chance to stretch your legs at a Spice Garden — learn where many popular ingredients come from.
Later we visit the Dambulla Cave Temple, a 2200-year-old pilgrimage site rich in statues and paintings.
Overnight at your hotel in Sigiriya, Habarana, or Dambulla.
Day 8 — Polonnaruwa, Sigiriya Rock & Elephant Experience
This morning we travel to the ancient city of Polonnaruwa with your guide, to view its well-preserved palaces, monasteries, and statues — including Lankatilaka Temple, Shiva Devalaya, and Gal Vihara’s famous 12th-century sculptures.
We can arrange for you to enjoy an optional elephant ride in Habarana — a chance to appreciate these majestic creatures up close.
Later, we’ll return to your hotel after exploring Sigiriya Rock Fortress — a dramatic citadel set high above the jungle.
Day 9 — Anuradhapura & Hot Water Wells en route to Trincomalee
We exchange jungle for the golden shores of the east today.
We first tour Anuradhapura, a UNESCO World Heritage Site rich in archaeological treasures.
On the way toward Trincomalee, we’ll break at Kanniya Hot Water Wells, adding a unique twist to your tour.
Your hotel in Trincomalee will be your base for the following nights.
Day 10 — Explore Trincomalee
Immerse yourself in the rich history and culture of Trincomalee (Trinco) — home to one of the world’s largest and most beautiful natural harbors.
Visit Fort Frederic, a Portuguese-built fort; the Commonwealth War Cemetery; Lover’s Leap; and a Hindu Temple complex with its elaborate gateway and bell tower.
After your tour, enjoy some relaxation by the pool or at the nearby beach.
Day 11 — Snorkeling, Diving & Relaxation in Trincomalee
Choose from a range of activities today — snorkel or dive in Pigeon Island National Park (with its rich coral formations and abundant marine life), or go whale and dolphin-watching — or simply enjoy a restful day by the pool or on the sand.
Your hotel is a comfortable refuge during your stay.
Day 12 — Snorkeling, Diving & Relaxation in Trincomalee
Repeat, or try something new today — a trip to Pigeon Island, whale and dolphin spotting, or pure relaxation under the tropical sun.
Your hotel’s facilities remain at your disposal.
Day 13 — Katunayake or Negombo
Today we say goodbye to the east and make the scenic 6.5–7 hour drive back toward Negombo or Katunayake.
Your private vehicle and chauffeur enable you to break up the journey with photo stops, and you may view logging elephants, roadside stands with fresh produce, and many beautiful sights along the way.
We’ll arrive in your hotel by late afternoon.
Day 14 — Departure
All good things come to an end, and your Grand Tour of Sri Lanka concludes today.
Your driver will transfer you to the airport in plenty of time (at least 3 hours before departure) for your flight back home — hopefully with wonderful memories, stories, and souvenirs from your tour.
